garden birding after this morning's rain

11 house sparrow (Passer domesticus) including 2 male 7 fem and 2 flashing over the back wall to quickly to be sexed. 1 male and 1 fem blackbird (Turdus merula) and 1 wood pigeon (Columba palumbus). During the briefest of garden watches following the morning's incessant downpour.

Received a text from a friend in Southsea, confirming their first garden willow warbler (Phylloscopus collybita) this spring. She usually has one or two willow warblers in the garden over the first couple of weeks of passage, I have suggested they may well not be the same two birds each day.
