A Field in England

I dropped into Lord's Piece to catch up with the resident population of field cricket (Gryllus campestris).

Immediately upon leaving the car, I could hear the not so distant singing of several males, and it took me less than a 100m walk into the heathland before being able to record - close in - a single songster, from the safety of a well worn pathway.
